Departmental COM 115 TA Orientation Schedule - Sunday, August 12 - Friday, August 20 |
This is the TA orientation schedule for August, 2007. There are three separate but related orientations. The university sponsors an orientation program for all new graduate assistants on Monday, August 13. If you are a new graduate assistant you must attend this all day event. Returning graduate assistants do not need to attend although you may want to join the rest of us for lunch in PSU. On Tuesday, August 14 the university sponsors a day long orientation for all graduate teaching assistants (new and old). Everyone attends this orientation. Again, we will meet up for lunch in PSU. On Wednesday, August 14 through Friday, August 20, the department runs its own orientation for all graduate assistants teaching COM 115. |

University Graduate Teaching Assistant Orientation - Tuesday, August 14 all day |
This is for ALL graduate teaching assistants. We will meet as a group for lunch. |
| Once again I am asking the group of returning teaching assistants to prepare models of the first and second speaking assignments. I will be recording these so they can be used as models for other instructors. | |
| All of you are teaching on a Tuesday - Thursday schedule. Double check to make sure your name is opposite the number of sections you should be teaching. I also recommend that you take time to physically visit each of your classrooms. | |

COM 115 Master Syllabus |
Everyone follows the policies as set forth in this master syllabus. |
| You should spend time between now and the start of orientation becoming very, very familiar with this material. I recommend you print a copy out and makes notes on anything that is not completely clear to you. Part of the orientation process is understanding the workbook. | |
